Rain on a wedding day

The potential for rain on a wedding day is likely in the Washington DC area. But it doesn't mean pictures are a wash out. It may mean fun props like this vintage umbrella the bride rented (I had no idea you could rent such things, did you?). How romantic is this bride and groom photo on the steps of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC? Is there anything more romantic than kissing a man in uniform under an umbrella? This picture is also one of the bride's favorites from the day. It's not perfectly posed. But it communicates so much. And just has a feel of a stolen moment. That's what makes the wedding day special. All those little moments you never ever want to forget. And the best way to remember them is a picture. We really only remember what we have pictures of, to jog our memory. Which is why wedding photographer and a photographer that can catch those moments is so important. How sad would it be for the couple not to have had this memory. Not to have this picture to remind them of how they felt about each other. Pre-kids and life happening. Being a wedding photographer is part historian and part capturing the magic and putting it in a bottle for when they need it later. I'm also grateful that in Washington DC we have so many amazing backdrops for pictures. As a photographer I know where so many of these hidden locations are and how to get a wedding party there - logistics are huge on a wedding day! I'm thankful for clients who also are willing to make it happen and trust that I can make it happen with them, on time and not losing anyone. A wedding day schedule is tight and you don't want to keep the couple from their party either. The experience of a professional photographer is the best investment on a wedding day.
